Ahhhh, it’s September!

My favorite time of year begins in September, and it’s starting off wonderfully.

I’ve been busy with several projects, trying to complete things I’ve started or wanted to, and I found out one of my monologues has been published in the 2026 edition of Mini Plays Review, which is out now. It’s a great little publication of short plays and monologues for all types of characters, especially when you need that under one minute audition piece.

I have two other writing possibilities that I won’t detail now, but fingers crossed for them both, and I applied for my first fellowship. I’ve never done anything like that. It is not a quick trick either. The application took me the better part of a weekend, but it was my first one, so maybe I just needed the extra time.

A few auditions, but nothing significant. A lovely kudo for the SAG Foundations Film Freeway, which I was on again this year as a viewer/voter. I’ll be attending the screening of the finalists later this month. It was difficult, and I don’t enjoy having to pass on films and performances that
merit more, but we had so many great submissions, and had to pare them down to be able to select the top short films to showcase, but I still wish all the films could have made it.

Looking forward to sweaters and the crisp fall air that invigorates and moves you to put an extra pep in your step. I try to do that anyway!
