It is a lovely month of May!
I got cast in Hudson Classical Theatre Company’s The Importance of Being Earnest as Miss Prism, and we’ve already started rehearsals. I love this play.
The beginning of my favorite time of year, with a few projects to jettison the start of a Fruitful Fall. This month I’m going to be directing a short podcast for Julie Marino - the writer and producer of Synesthesia Radio Theatre. I did a role in...
Another month begun, and I am a bit behind the beat. Blame it on the heat. Had a fun time over the weekend stage managing for ‘Let There Be Love’ ~ PGE Stage Experiments at Primary Stages. That kept me busy, and now it’s back to work on my latest play...
Things are heated up this month with the reading of my play The Swinging Nuns on the 7th. This draft I’ve not heard out loud, so this will really be a good way to see if I’m closer to the mark. I have a wonderful cast of actors, and I know we’ll have a lively audience who will give constructive feedback, so...
Once again, I am a tiny bit behind but having had a rousing round with my fellow playwrights on June 2nd getting feedback from fellow artists on our respective plays, I’m still absorbing things! And back at work re-thinking, writing, and pondering these nuns who inhabit Our Lady of Perpetual Motion Catholic High School. We are meeting again June 9th for dinner, hosted by Mike Lesser the artistic director, continuing to flesh out what we’ve created. July will be the read thru for invit...
I can’t believe it’s May 6th and I’m just getting to blog now, but there’s a really good excuse. I have two of my plays kind of front and center for my attention.
THE SWINGING NUNS is one of the four plays chosen by The Playground Experiments Required Reading #6, a development process. All four playwrights have their plays read by about twenty people who have signed up to read them.
Well after our snowstorm yesterday I am hopeful that the flowers later this month will be spectacular!April has begun with seeds sprouting for my play THE SWINGING NUNS, that has been chosen for The Playground Experiment’s Required Reading and First Reads Festival. Four playwrights are selected and our plays will be read by twenty actor/writer playgrounders and then we’ll have a table read for an invited audience. I’m very excited and know that my Nuns will be in good han...
Looks like this month in making quite a dramatic entrance, nevertheless, there’s lots of things happening regardless of the wind, rain and snow!
Our play in progress, Relentlessly Pleasant, is moving forward with initial re-writes and we are meeting up this month to further things along. Our public reading is scheduled for Monday April 23, so stay tuned for location and time.
The podcast I did...
January sure flew by. Woosh, it’s gone! And on its heels is the Valentine month, Cupid’s playground.
The first week of this year has certainly been dramatic. Here in New York City we’ve been in the deep freeze and had the fun of a highly theatrical blizzard with all the trimmings……….so this blog had to wait till things thawed out and warmed up!But……..the year is off to a good start. I am embarking on a project headed by Jake Lipman, artistic director of Tongue In Cheek Theatre Company.
This year has flown at a pace that doesn’t seem to be stopping, and that’s okay. On Dec. 10th, ALL CATHERINE is continuing at the Music Hall at the Dramatists Guild with another reading for invited friends. I wanted to finish out the year with...
