It’s good to have a brand new year ahead of us. Last year was challenging, but also rewarding in a myriad of ways.
I’m directing Hook, Lie & Sinker by Kristen Evans for The Players Theatre Short Play Festival at the Steve and Marie Sgouros Theatre at The Players. We open Thursday February 12 at 7pm and have performances February 13, 14 at 7pm and Sunday February 15 at 3pm. I’ve directed there before and it’s a nice little black box theatre in the center of Greenwich Village, which is always a fun destination for theatregoers. It’s a pretty nice way to start the new year.

I’m making headway on In An Instant and have the edit of the first act completed. I’ve been pondering how I’m going to unravel this ‘accident’ and who is responsible and I’ve come up with an interesting solution. I have readings at New Ambassadors Lab next month and then at The Playground Experiment, so I’ll have an opportunity to see if what I came up with works.
After I take down my Christmas tree, I need to check in on AEA auditions to see if there’s anything I’m right to audition for. Dealing with the online casting process is at times extremely frustrating, but I guess it is for all of us. It’s better than waiting out on the street, in the cold like we used to do. I can always just show up and see if there’s a cancellation or they can just fit me in.
There’s much to look forward to this year, and I intend to make the best of it all.
Happy New Year ~ here’s to a great 2026!
