This month began and I didn’t realize it, so I’m using the heat as my excuse, though I’m not quite sure that was the cause of my ‘not knowing’.
It’s been a busy summer. In a good way, but I feel like I am chasing the clock sometimes and I want to slow it down. I don’t think I’m alone in feeling this way either.
I have written two monologues for two different festivals and am keeping up my concentration on getting Steel Tango in good hands. It just takes time, and lots of patience…and a few prayers.
I got some great feedback regarding In An Instant from a real live race car expert, so I’m going back and incorporating those tidbits he shared with me. It’s making the script even better.
I’ve gone to a few tango practicas and milongas to my delight. I’m needing more of both to get my tango toes back, but once the weather cools off a bit, I will be more energized.
A couple of self tapes sent in – one in particular I thought would land me the job, but they went with someone else. At least in a live audition, you do have a sense of some feedback – good or bad – but in a self tape you get zero. It’s disheartening. But we keep plugging away!
That’s all I have for this month. Stay cool and keep going.
