Performing The Importance of Being Earnest was a joy, despite the weather causing a few cancellations, which is the roll of the dice when you do outdoor theatre. However, the outdoor setting was perfect on the remaining days ~ glorious backdrop of Riverside Park, birds chirping, squirrels dancing back and forth, delicious air, and a terrific cast. It was great fun, with attentive audiences who heaped praise on our production. What more can you ask for except to keep going!! There was a mention of mounting an indoor production, but knowing all that would entail, I will not hold my breath for too long, but keep my fingers crossed!
Back to work on In An Instant, with a brief time out to write The Snake, a short scary little play for New Ambassadors Fear Fest that will take place in the fall. The deadline in July 10th, so I have to keep my fingers to the keyboard. Fortunately I have my writers group and a few choice actor friends to bounce the script off of, so I think I will be okay – okay enough to have something worthy to submit. I’ll report next month.
Tango has been taken out of the back seat and with the nice weather there are many outdoor milongas in addition to the indoor ones to attend, and I plan to attend as many as I can. My partner and I had a fabulous practica on Monday, so I want to make progress in my technique this summer, ready for the fall.
And I plan to be back auditioning in person. Yipee!
