Unfamiliar at The Players Short Play Festival was well received and satisfying. It was good to be able to have had it evolve from the performances in August at The Secret Theatre, and I know we all felt we’d made progress in finding more. As the director, I luxuriated in helping to deepen what possibilities were there for the actors. 

It’s great that there are opportunities to audition at Equity. I’ve been doing my best to get out there and audition for anything I am right for…plus you always run into friends, which is a very nice extra. The SAG Foundation has all sorts of workshops, seminars and screenings, and I try to avail myself as much as possible. I love fall for all the excitement with screenings and things to consider.

I graduated from the Times Square 12 week square dancing classes and now am a full fledged member ~ Yeehaw! It’s so much fun and much harder than you’d imagine. The patterns are many and varied, one never knows what will be called or what music will be played. You really have to be “in the moment” which is great for actors. It’s like doing the NY Times crossword while you are moving furniture!

Floor Barre is getting easier….well not really, but I’m getting more accustomed to what my body has to do, and I can see the positive results. Definitely strengthening and realignment, which I need. I will continue this as long as I possibly can.

New Ambassador’s Theatre Lab series has become another opportunity and I enjoyed having the first 3 scenes of In An Instant read at the last Lab, and now am trying to take those notes and feedback into this next edit. I am finding this play challenging and rewarding. Like most playwrights I’m guessing.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, even if at the moment things seems daunting, we cannot forget the light is still shining.
