September Song

I always think of The Fantasticks when September rolls around and that song, but I’ve been oh so wrong for quite sometime, because that song was composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Maxwell Anderson. It was introduced by Walter Huston in the 1938 Broadway musical production Knickerbocker Holiday

What a dope I’ve been! Flunking Musical Theatre 101. Good thing I don’t write musicals or I’d be in trouble.

So I’m happy to report I’ll be directing a new short play in October. Dave Malouf has written an exceptional short that will be done at the Sgouros Theatre on MacDougal street – right next to The Players Theatre, Oct 7-10, and he’s asked me to direct it.

I’m also working on something for Break a Leg Productions ‘Love Festival’. Should be fun.

I want to get my pantry turned into my VO Booth accomplished this month, so that’s on my ‘to-do’ list as well as looking at ….auditions! Yes, I will be doing that!

Tango should figure into this month somewhere too.

Oh boy! Happy September.
