Sweet September

Unfamiliar

The summer has flown and now starts my favorite time of year ~ fall ~ happily with a directing project at The Steve and Marie Sgouros Theatre, at The Players Theatre on MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village. We are remounting Unfamiliar that I directed over the summer at The Secret Theatre in Queens. It’s like we had an out of town try-out, and now we made it to Manhattan! I feel lucky to have another go at this short play as it’s morphed into something other than what we presented, and how many playwrights, directors, and actors get a second chance?

We run for 4 performances – October 10, 11, 12 @ 7pm and October 13 @ 3pm.

I have The Swinging Nuns out for consideration at a venue and hope that something may happen there. It’s under wraps till then, but stay tuned!

And besides auditioning, which I am enjoying, I’m taking Janice Orlandi’s The Art of Transformation at the HB Studios starting this month. I am anxious to start and learn from her, having met her though Giles Forman, whose work I admire, so I’m very keen to be infused with her knowledge of the stage and theatre.

Square dancing is coming along and it’s a ton of fun as well as a challenge. The challenge being that one never knows what the caller is going to call, so you have to be present and on your toes (no pun intended) all the time. This is a great group and I’m loving every minute.

Now to enjoy the cooler weather and ready to go!

~ Happy September ~
